Calibration steps for Y521-A conductivity salinity sensor
1. Required tools and raw materials
Required equipment: 2 250mL beakers, 1 fixed tube, 1 pair of gloves
Raw materials: 1.4083mS/cm conductivity standard solution, 12.852mS/cm conductivity standard solution

2. Calibration steps
Y521-A Yushan four electrode conductivity salinity sensor supports 1-point and 2-point calibration.
The 1-point calibration is completed at 1.4083mS/cm, and the k value of the sensor is changed;
Two point calibration was completed in standard solutions of 1.4083mS/cm and 12.852mS/cm, changing the k and B values of the sensor.
(1) 1-point calibration steps (changing K value)
Step 1:Put an appropriate amount of 1.4083mS/cm conductivity standard solution into a 250mL bottle, place the sensor in the bottle, and gently shake the sensor to remove bubbles at the front end of the sensor;
Step 2:Insert the RS485 to USB connector connected to the sensor cable into the computer, open the SmartPC testing software on the computer, pull down "Port", select the corresponding COM port, and then measure to obtain real-time measurement values of conductivity, TDS, and temperature;
Step 3:Click 'Stop' to end the data measurement, and then click 'Calibrate'. In the "Automatic Calibration" interface, write the "Single Point/First Point Calibration Value" as 1.4083, click "1 Point" to perform one point calibration, wait for the value in the pop-up window to stabilize, and click "OK" to complete the calibration. Click on 'Get' again and check if the K value is written correctly;

Step 4:Click "Start" on the "CT" interface to obtain the conductivity, TDS, Real time measurement of salinity and temperature, check if the conductivity value is close to 1.41mS/cm, and verify if the calibration is successful.
(2) 2-point calibration steps (changing K and B values)
Step 1:Put an appropriate amount of 1.4083mS/cm conductivity standard solution into a 250mL bottle, and put an appropriate amount of 12.852mS/cm conductivity standard solution into another 250mL bottle;
Step 2:Place the sensor into a beaker containing 1.4083mS/cm conductivity standard solution, gently shake the sensor to remove any bubbles at the front end of the sensor;
Step 3:Insert the RS485 to USB connector connected to the sensor cable into the computer, open the SmartPC testing software on the computer, click "Connect" and "Measure", then click "Start" to obtain the conductivity, TDS, Real time measurement values of salinity and temperature;
Step 4:Click 'Stop' to end the data measurement, and then click 'Calibrate'. In the "Automatic Calibration" interface, write the "Single Point/First Point Calibration Value" as 1.4083 and the "Second Point Calibration Value" as 12.852. Click "2 Points" to perform two-point calibration, wait for the sensor calibration value to stabilize in the first standard solution, click "OK", then clean the sensor with distilled water or deionized water, dry it, and place it in a bottle containing 12.852mS/cm conductivity standard solution. Wait for the sensor calibration value to stabilize in the second standard solution, and click "OK" to complete the calibration. Click on 'Get' again and check if the K and B values are written correctly;

Step 5:Click "Start" on the "CT" interface to obtain the conductivity, TDS, Real time measurement of salinity and temperature, check if the conductivity value is close to 12.85mS/cm, and verify if the two-point calibration is successful.
